Before you book.
Best season. October to April for evening safari — comfortable temperatures, dramatic sunsets, peak BBQ + show atmosphere. May to September shifts the recommendation to morning safari only because evening sand stays hot until midnight.
Booking lead time. Same-day bookings available until 11:00 for evening safaris. Sunset slots fill 1-2 days ahead October-April. Group bookings 8+ pax need 24-48 hours notice. Private safaris with add-ons need 48 hours.
Family planning. Kids 0-2 ride free on parent's lap. Kids 3-12 pay child rate. Teens 13+ pay adult rate. Family Safari Package bundles 2A + 2C at saver rate.
Dietary requirements. Halal meat across the buffet. Vegetarian options always available. Gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-allergy handled with notice — message us on WhatsApp at booking.
What to expect.
Pickup. Land Cruiser arrives at hotel reception. Tell your driver where to find you (lobby, valet, side entrance). 45-minute drive to Lahbab via E66.
Dune bashing. Tyre pressure dropped at the access point, safety briefing covers what to expect on dune climbs. 30-minute roller-coaster route through Lahbab's mid-grade ridges. Photo stop at the high crest at golden hour.
Camp arrival. Welcome with karak chai or Arabic coffee, dates. Henna painting station opens. Photographer at the Arabic dress photo opportunity.
Camel ride. Short tame-camel ride. Camels are large but gentle; the handler lifts kids on while the camel sits. Most kids 4+ enjoy it.
Sandboarding. Soft dune face. Boards available at the camp. Kids and adults welcome; experience not needed.
BBQ buffet. 19:30-20:45. Veg + non-veg, unlimited soft drinks, tea, coffee, water.
Shows. 19:45 belly dance. 20:15 tanoura whirler. 20:45 fire show.
Drop-off. 21:30 hotel return. Marina hotels first, downtown last.
