Corporate hosting. Hosting clients during a Dubai trip — private is the right signal. Reserved camp seating, dedicated driver, no shared van etiquette to manage. Add a branded photo backdrop and the camp delivers business-trip impact at a vacation cost.
Mobility considerations. Private vehicles can adjust the dune route for guests with mobility limitations — gentler approach, longer photo stops, no aggressive bashing. The shared programme runs to one fixed pace.
Photo-shoot intent. Travel bloggers, content creators, professional photographers — private 4x4 means the driver waits at the photo crest while you set up DSLR + drone + sound. Shared van has 5 minutes max per stop.
▸ Booking + scheduling
Practical differences.
Shared booking flexibility. Same-day bookings often available until 11:00 for evening safaris. Sunset slots fill 1-2 days ahead October-April. Mid-week is easiest. Group of 1-3 booking shared is the easiest configuration to slot into the daily schedule.
Private booking lead time. Standard private bookings need 24-hour notice. Private with add-ons (cake, photographer, decorated table, falconry) need 48-hour notice. Last-minute private requests sometimes possible but the team confirms availability of dedicated driver and add-on logistics.
Cancellation flexibility. Same policy applies to both — 96+ hours no fee, 72+ hours 50%, under 24 hours 100%. Add-on cancellations follow the same schedule. Private bookings with substantial add-ons may require deposit at booking which is then subject to the cancellation tier in effect at cancellation time.
Vehicle quality. Both shared and private use the same Land Cruiser fleet. The difference is one vehicle vs sharing. Larger Cadillac Escalade SUV upgrades available on private requests with premium pricing — confirm at booking.
Driver quality. All drivers are DTCM-licensed with senior dune-driving credentials. Private bookings get the senior dune drivers who handle photo timing and pace flexibility better. Shared van drivers are equally qualified but operate to a fixed group schedule.
