Booking

How do I book?+
Message +971 52 440 9525 on WhatsApp with your dates, package preference, group size and hotel address. Reply within 5 minutes during 06:00-21:00 daily.
Can I book on the same day?+
Standard sharing flights usually accept same-day bookings until late afternoon if a basket has space. Sunset slots in peak season (Dec-Feb) fill 1-2 weeks ahead. Private charters need 48-72 hours minimum.
Do I pay in advance?+
No advance payment for standard bookings. Card and cash both accepted at the launch site. Private bookings with substantial add-ons may require a deposit — confirmed at quote stage.

Pickup

What time is hotel pickup?+
04:00-05:00 depending on season. Earlier in summer (sunrise around 05:35), later in winter (sunrise around 06:30). Confirmed time on WhatsApp the evening before.
Is hotel pickup included?+
Yes — free Dubai hotel pickup and drop-off across every package tier including private. The vehicle collects you at hotel reception.
Can I drive myself to the launch site?+
Yes if you prefer. The team shares the launch site pin on WhatsApp at booking. Around 50 km south-east of Downtown — 45-50 minute drive at that hour with empty roads.

Flight experience

How long is the actual flight?+
60 minutes typical. Can extend to 70 minutes on calm days. Total programme door-to-door is 4-5 hours including pickup, briefing, balloon prep, flight, breakfast (deluxe/premium), and drop-off.
How high does the balloon go?+
Maximum altitude around 2,000 feet on a calm morning. Lower or higher within safe limits depending on wind layers. Pilot adjusts altitude with burner controls.
Will I feel sick?+
Hot air balloons drift with the wind — there's no buffeting or sudden movement. Most passengers don't experience motion sickness. The basket itself is stable.
What can I see from the balloon?+
Margham desert orange dunes below. Hajar mountains east. On clear mornings the Dubai skyline silhouette north-west. Sunrise is the visual centrepiece — the dunes light up in deep red as the sun crests.

Kids + restrictions

What's the minimum age?+
5 years old. Children must be accompanied by an adult guardian in the basket. Below age 5 not permitted on balloon flights.
Are there height/weight limits?+
Children must stand at the basket edge to see — typically 1.2m+ height. No upper weight limit but very heavy passengers may be asked to position centrally for balance.
Pregnancy?+
We don't permit pregnant passengers on balloon flights. The basket has no seats and the standing-only configuration plus altitude pressure changes aren't safe. Talk to your doctor for any specific situation.
Health restrictions?+
Skip if you have severe heart conditions, recent major surgery, severe vertigo, or other conditions affected by altitude/standing for 60+ minutes. Ask the operator and your doctor before booking.

Weather

What if the flight is cancelled for weather?+
If operations pause a flight for safety or weather, the team will confirm the available reschedule or policy-based option on WhatsApp. We don't promise refunds we can't honour — the team works with the operator to give you the best available outcome.
Best season?+
October to May. June to September is summer pause for most operators because thermals make balloon flight unsafe. We recommend October onwards for the best experience.
Will I get wet from morning dew?+
Brief contact with damp basket edges possible. Closed shoes recommended. The flight itself is dry; landing on damp sand is the only wetness factor and it's brief.

Private flights

How much for private?+
AED 12,500 for 2-5 pax. AED 20,500 for 15-20 pax. Larger groups split into multiple baskets (we coordinate). Per-person at full capacity: AED 2,500 (5 pax basket) or AED 1,025 (20 pax basket).
Can I propose during the flight?+
Yes. Free coordination service — pilot times the moment with sunrise. Optional photographer (AED 350), cake (AED 100-150), decorated landing (AED 200) available.
Do private flights include breakfast?+
Yes — private packages include the full deluxe-tier camp programme (breakfast, camel, falcon) at no extra cost.

Cancellation

Cancellation policy?+
96+ hours before departure: no cancellation fee. 72+ hours: 50% cancellation fee. Under 24 hours, same-day, no-show: 100% cancellation fee.
What if I'm late for pickup?+
We wait 5 minutes at hotel reception. Beyond that, the convoy may need to leave to keep the launch on schedule. Same-day rescheduling possible if a slot is open.

How a balloon booking actually works.

Most balloon enquiries land on WhatsApp with three pieces of information: dates, group size, and tier preference. The team replies within 5 minutes during 06:00–21:00 confirming basket availability for the requested dates and the per-person price. If basket-availability is tight (peak December–February), 1-2 alternative slot options surface in the same reply.

Confirmation typically completes inside the first WhatsApp thread — guest replies 'yes confirm', team responds with confirmed booking message including pickup time window, driver name and direct contact, what to bring (closed shoes, light jacket, sunglasses, sunscreen, camera with strap), and reschedule policy if weather affects the date.

Day-before reminder arrives ~18:00 the evening prior. Driver contact shared. Pickup time confirmed. Weather check applied — if forecast warrants caution the team flags the possibility of morning-of cancellation and arranges next-slot reschedule preemptively. Day-of weather call by ~03:00 if the pilot decides to pause; reschedule or refund per the standard cancellation policy.

On the day, pickup window 04:00–05:00 (varies by season — earlier summer, later winter). 45-minute drive to Margham. Pre-flight briefing + tea/coffee at launch site. Balloon segment 60 minutes. Post-flight programme (Deluxe and Premium) at the camp. Hotel drop-off by ~10:00 (Standard ~09:00, Deluxe ~10:30, Premium ~21:30 for full-day).

Post-trip: certificate of flight delivered at landing. Photos (if photographer add-on booked) within 48 hours via WeTransfer link. Review request via WhatsApp 1-2 days after — your honest feedback shapes the operator's continuous improvement.

▸ Comparison & alternatives

Balloon vs other Dubai aerial options.

Helicopter sightseeing — 12-30 minutes city skyline circuit with rotor noise, banks and turns, ~AED 700-1,500. Different aesthetic — kinetic urban vs contemplative desert. Some guests do helicopter on one day for the city, balloon another day for the desert sunrise.

Seaplane — 25-40 minutes Dubai-to-Abu Dhabi or aerial circuits over the Palm and World Islands, ~AED 1,500-2,800. Coastal aerial photography, water landing as part of the experience. Balloon delivers a different — desert vs coastal — viewpoint.

Drone-eye-view experiences — virtual flights at indoor venues are not the same product. The balloon delivers actual altitude, actual sunrise light, actual silence in real time. The novelty is part of the value.

Skydiving over Palm Jumeirah is the closest 'aerial photo' alternative for thrill-seeking guests — but it's a 2-3 minute freefall + 5-minute canopy, vs balloon's contemplative 60-minute drift. Different energy entirely. Some couples do balloon for the romantic morning and skydive for the adrenaline afternoon.

Hot-air balloon over the Abu Dhabi or RAK desert isn't currently a standard operator-offered product the way Margham (Dubai) is. If your preference is non-Dubai launch, message the team — custom private balloon outside Margham can sometimes be coordinated for milestone groups.
