The Yamaha 220cc is the bridge between the kids 90cc and the full 400cc fleet. Power is enough to climb a moderate dune face but the throttle stays linear and predictable — first-timers can lift off and walk up to speed without the surprise of a turbo kick. Suspension is forgiving on small whoops, the seat is low enough for short riders to flat-foot at a stop, and the chassis tracks straight on flat sand.

We pair the 220cc with the smoother Lahbab dune lines — gentler grades, wider corridors and a guide who paces your group. Riders aged 13 and 14 need parental approval at the camp; from 15 up it's a standard self-ride sign-up.

  • Riders follow guide instructions and the briefing at all times.

  • Closed shoes required. No flip-flops or open sandals.
  • Helmet, goggles and gloves must be worn for the full session.
  • Reduced ride time from late arrival is not normally refunded.

Yes — it's the most beginner-friendly adult quad in our fleet. Automatic transmission, calm throttle, low seat. Most first-timers feel comfortable inside the first 5 minutes of a 30-minute session.
What is the minimum age?+
13 with parental approval at the camp. From 15 up it's a standard self-ride sign-up. Bring a valid passport ID. Below 13 we run the kids 90cc on the fenced track.
Can I ride 220cc on Big Red?+
Short Big Red detours are possible on the 1-hour and 2-hour packages with the guide's approval. The steep upper faces of Big Red and Fossil Rock loops need a 400cc Turbo or bigger — speak to the team on WhatsApp before booking if Big Red is the goal.
Do I need a driving licence?+
No driving licence is required. The 220cc runs on private dune routes only. Bring a valid passport ID — eligibility is confirmed at the camp before the briefing.
How does the 220cc compare to the 400cc?+
The 220cc is calmer and more forgiving — better for first-timers. The 400cc has more dune-climb authority and is the most-rented adult quad. If it's your second or third quad ride, step up to the 400cc.
