BIG BORE
Yamaha Grizzly Quad Bike
Yamaha Grizzly — the big-bore utility ATV in our fleet. Torque you can feel under heel, planted geometry on deep dunes, and the right answer for heavier riders or steep dune climbs.
Why pick the Yamaha Grizzly Quad Bike.
The Grizzly 700 is a true utility ATV — built for ranch and farm work in its day job, perfect for deep desert here. The big-bore single delivers torque you can feel under heel on a long climb, the chassis is heavier than the 400cc family which means it sits planted on loose sand, and the suspension travel handles the heaviest riders we get on a quad.
Where the 400cc Turbo punches, the Grizzly hauls. It's not a sport quad — sharp lateral inputs aren't its strength — but on a long Big Red ridge with deep sand it puts down power that the 400cc family can't match.
What the ride feels like.
The Grizzly has a different feel from the 400cc family. It's heavier, more deliberate, and rewards a smooth throttle. Stand up on the pegs and shift weight forward to climb steep faces. On flat sand it cruises happily at 80 km/h with throttle to spare. Heavier riders (90+ kg) often prefer this machine — the chassis doesn't feel underpowered.
Best for.
Right rider profile
Heavier adult riders. Riders who want torque over throttle response. Big Red ridge sessions. Anyone who's done a 400cc Turbo and wants a different chassis feel on a return visit.
Where it runs
Lahbab full loop and Big Red ridge. Particularly strong on long climbs and deep sand. Not the right machine for Fossil Rock sport-frame routes — those go to the 625cc Sport or Raptor 700.
