You feel the turbo at roughly 4,000 rpm on a steep climb — the buggy gathers itself and surges through the soft mid-section of a dune face that would have stalled the entry car. Acceleration on flat sand is measurably quicker without becoming nervous; the CVT is well calibrated and the suspension stays composed at higher speeds.

Best terrain is rolling Lahbab plus the gentler half of Big Red. The race-spec faces of Big Red are still better suited to the 195 HP Can-Am X3 RS Turbo RR, but with an experienced rider you can absolutely run mid-line on the iconic dune for the photo. Photo stops are protected on every loop; the lead guide always pauses on the Lahbab ridge for a 2-minute shot.
